The main uses of nonionic polyacrylamide include the following aspects.

1. Used in oilfield chemical additives. For example, the application of polyacrylamide as crosslinking agent.

2. Sand prevention and fixation. The non-ionic polyacrylamide is dissolved into 0.3% concentration and added with crosslinking agent, which can play a role in sand control and sand fixation.

3. Oil exploitation. Polyacrylamide is used in mud additives, stabilizers and sedimentation flocculation to improve the rheological properties of mud.

3. It has special effect on organic colloidal suspended solids and can promote sludge dewatering and filtration rapidly. The corresponding model can be selected according to the sludge properties. The filter cloth does not stick to the filter cloth during dewatering, and it is not loose during pressure filtration, with high efficiency.

4. Used for textile sizing agent. It has the advantages of stable size performance, less drop, low fabric end breakage rate and smooth cloth surface.

5. For the treatment of organic sewage. Such as electroplating, printing and dyeing, grease factory wastewater, alcohol, monosodium glutamate, sugar, meat factory wastewater, and urban sewage.

6. Soil humectant. It can be used as soil humectant and basic material of various modified polyacrylamide.

In practical application, it is necessary to select the type first. After determining the ion type and product index of the product, it can be purchased and used in batches. In addition, the nonionic polyacrylamide has good water solubility and can be completely dissolved in cold water. However, the dissolution time is longer than that of cationic or non-ionic type, and the preparation time generally takes about 60-90 minutes.

Granular polyacrylamide flocculant can not be directly added to the sewage. It must be dissolved in water before use. Using its aqueous solution to treat sewage. Only the well dissolved polyacrylamide can give full play to its flocculation function. Several points should be paid attention to when using polyacrylamide as oilfield chemical agent.

1. When preparing polyacrylamide solution, it should be suitable in enamel, zinc plating, aluminum or plastic barrel. Do not prepare and store in iron containers.

2. The water for dissolving polyacrylamide particles should be clean. It cant be sewage. Generally, tap water is suitable for preparing polymer solution. Strong acid, strong alkali and high salt water are not suitable for preparation. Normal temperature water can be used, generally no heating is needed. When the water temperature is lower than 5 ℃, the dissolution is very slow. With the increase of water temperature, the dissolution rate is accelerated. However, the temperature above 40 ℃ will accelerate the degradation of the polymer, and the water temperature for dissolving PAM should not exceed 60 ℃.

3. The concentration of cationic polyacrylamide is generally 2 ‰ to 5 ‰. The concentration of anionic and nonionic polyacrylamide is generally 1 ‰ to 2 ‰. Generally, the dissolution time of cations and anions is about one hour, and that of non-ionic is about one and a half hours.

4. When dissolving, when the water level reaches half of the container, start stirring. Should pay attention to the product along the stirring out of the vortex evenly slowly added. Prevent sticking together to form “fish eyes”. The mixing speed should be 50 to 200 rpm. The mixing speed should not be too fast. Avoid excessive mechanical shear for a long time, reduce viscosity and affect the use effect.

5. The aqueous solution should be prepared on the spot. When the solution is placed for a long time, its performance will gradually decrease depending on the water quality. Generally, cationic polyacrylamide can degrade faster than anion, and it can degrade faster in summer than in winter.
